MY FAVORITE PICTURE THAT COVERS RADIO AND NEWS

This old photo shows the the Charleston Daily News office in the 1940's.  Lee Lynch is on the far right, Claude Rardin is to his right, and the other employees, left to right are Roger Sullivan (Pat), B. Carpenter and H. Huber.  The office was located at 5th and Madison (south side).  The Rardin family is a very old family in Coles County.  Claude is the 3rd generation Rardin.  John Rardin would take over as publisher later.  Lee Lynch was a reporter for the Charleston Courier, started radio news for WDZ, left the Courier and then worked for the Daily News.
